Singles & Families

Being single is a gift from God, though it may not always feel that way. Singles are embraced and loved as a part of other families in the church to the greatest extent possible. They are meant to be cared for by families, and to also be a service to families. They are a valuable gift to God, for the time in which they are single, for they are able to be singly devoted to God and his cause in the church.

Families Serving in Ministry

Families (who have attended for over a year and who have become members) will serve in the classes where their kids are unless they have another area of responsibility during that time.

A Typical Sunday

9:15am - Kids/youth hang out together and Adults meet and greet
9:30 - 11:00 Sunday School Leaders and Parents teach kids/youth or Go into Service when not serving

Kids from 6th Grade to Senior High meet in the big church.

Valuing Families

God made a very special thing when He made families. The family is the most important place where ministry happens. God's word says that if we do not have our family in order, how can we expect to serve in other roles. The family encompasses all things that are important in life:

love one to another
relationship building
intimacy and dependency
mutual accountability
service one to another
discipleship (mentoring)

At Amadeo Community Church we are absolutely committed to protecting and nuturing families. We encourage:

Vacationing
Playing Together
Praying Together
Learning about God Together
And serving one another.

Examples of Families First

1. Newly married people are required to not serve in ministry positions for the first full year they are married.

2. Families with new babies are requested to not serve in ministry for at least one month. Paid Staff are required to take 1 month off paid.

3. Families who work on staff are required to take 5 weeks vacation a year. (If you have a baby that time is in addition to the month off with the baby.)

4. All families serving in lay-ministry are required to take at least two month off each year to re-energize and re-commit to building relationships in the family.

5. For every 1 week of work away from family (for retreats etc), staff will be required to take 2 days off to be with family and\or rest.

6. Staff or lay people should not have more then 3 regulary scheduled nights away from family each week.
